The other four recipients are electronics expert Hiroo Inokuchi, virologist Kumao Toyoshima, painter Tadashi Moriya and sculptor Toshio Yodoi. The five will be given the awards by the emperor at the Imperial Palace on Nov. 3, Culture Day.
